10U/19U Girls
The 10U girls team is a member of the WCHL with home games played in Gunnison.
19U girls have an opportunity to play WCHL league games as part of the Grand Junction River Hawks program.
Ages
19U players are typically 13-19 years old.
10U players are typically 7-10 years old.
Girls younger than 7 years old should continue to play on their age appropriate co-ed team.
When
Practices begin at the end of September and will finish after the League Championship tournament, typically in late-February.
Where
Practices take place at the Jorgensen Event Center until January 1. Beginning in January, practices will take place at Big Mine Ice Rink in Crested Butte and Jorgensen Event Center in Gunnison.
Practices
Teams practice 2 to 3 times per week.
Games
There are 4-6 game weekends a year, typically with 2-5 games per weekend. Travel weekends are usually to Aspen, Vail, Denver, Durango, Albuquerque and/or Telluride.
Jerseys
10U players are provided with West Elk Wolverines jerseys that are returned to WEHA at the end of the season. The team manager will provide information on purchasing socks for the season.
19U players that register to play for the Grand Junction River Hawks will be notified about uniform requirements.
Extra Costs
Travel and extra tournament costs are not included in registration fees.
2026 - 2027
19U - $260 (This registration cost covers all WEHA practices for the season)
For 19U girls interested in playing WCHL games, registration for the 19U Grand Junction River Hawks as an out of town player is required.
